What You Will Get to Do

  1. Introduction to basic sewing terminologies
  2. Understanding and getting confident in the use of a sewing machine
  3. Understanding the measuring tape
  4. Accurate body measurements
  5. Basic sewing tools and their distinct uses
  6. Fabric management
  7. How to sew neatly with straight and seamless finishing
  8. How to draft basic block patterns
  9. Understanding patterns and freehand cutting
  10. Draft, cut and sew two(2) complete garments (basic bodice and skirt/shorts)

Materials Provided

  • Our signature Beginners sewing handout,
  • Scissors, chalk, ruler, seam ripper, threads, and measuring tape.
  • 6 yards of fabrics.
  • Access to the FET community for long-term tips, Q&A, mentoring, and guidance.

Note:
To be able to participate in this class, you must have your own sewing machine.
It's crucial to have your own sewing machine for this class because we emphasize a serious commitment to learning. Consistent practice is key, we will be giving you take-home assignments after every class/session that you must complete before the next class ensuring you grasp each lesson fully before moving forward. We will be providing you with a kit containing other materials needed for this class which you will also be allowed to take home with you after each class. By having your own equipment, you'll be fully prepared to tackle both assignments and final projects, maximizing your learning and sewing proficiency.

The fee is required to be paid in full before class starts. You can pay in 2-3 installments. The balance must be paid before class starts.

  • The class will begin at the stipulated time agreed upon.
  • 5 minutes grace for lateness
  • There are no refunds if you are late. In other words, Payments are not refundable if you come late.
  • Extra 15 minutes to 1hr after the stipulated class time attracts an extra $20. So, please do well to be punctual and concentrate during the stated time for your class.
